When is the Hottest 100?

The Hottest 100 is typically held on the third or fourth weekend in January and starts at approximately 12.00pm AEDT. The exact dates and times for the countdown will be announced early December, keep your eyes on triplej.net.au for more details!

If you’re trying to find a song we played recently:

Check out triple j’s recently played page where you can search playlists from specific programs, dates and times (with handy links to hear the tracks on YouTube, Spotify and triple j Unearthed!) You can also see recent songs and what’s playing now on the triple j mobile app and our @triplejplays Twitter account.

If you’re trying to find a song we played ages ago:

If you can’t remember the date and time you heard a song, your best bet’s Googling it. Search online for lyrics that match what you can remember, and if all else fails contact us through the feedback form below with as many details of the song as you can muster up - lyrics, comparisons to the other artist, vibes. (Results not guaranteed.)

If you want to submit your music to us:

triple j Unearthed is the best avenue if you’re an Australian artist to be heard, rated and then possibly given airplay across any of our networks. Unearthed also offers numerous competitions for artists throughout the year as well.

If you still wish to submit your music to triple j and Double J, via the contact form at the bottom of this page, the rules are:

  • Download links only please, no attachments
  • Please provide no more than one page of information about your music.

We can’t provide individual feedback and we’ll do our best to listen to all submissions and support them as best we can.

If you can’t find a Like A Version that you loved:

Like A Version turned 17 in 2021, so there are plenty out there! If the Like A Version you seek came out later than 2016, try the Like A Version page on the triple j website. You’ll find some from earlier than that on triple j’s YouTube page. For copyright reasons some Like A Version performances have been removed from these platforms.

If you want your favourite Like A Version on streaming services:

Like A Version availability on Spotify and Apple Music is negotiated with artists and record labels and isn’t always possible. Keep checking back to see if the cover you crave has been added to the playlist!

If you want to register for Lunchtime Legend or F*** Off Friday:

We take Lunchtime Legend requests each day from 12:45 or thereabouts. There are usually themes involved. Listen in to find out the score. F*** Off Friday happens hourly on Fridays between 9am and midday- you’ll wanna listen to play here too. Send your requests for both to 0439 75 7555.

If you have a question about your tracks being played on triple j unearthed:

Anyone can upload their music to triple j Unearthed. From there, someone from the triple j Unearthed will listen to your track in full and consider it for airplay and online support. It can take up to a week for your track to be moderated but there’s nothing else you need to do once you’ve uploaded the track, to be considered for airplay. To find out more about Unearthed and how it works click here for our Unearthed FAQs.
