Joel was born to a family of thespians in 1970, an event described by critics as "the entrance of a lifetime".
His family immediately went on tour around Australia, allowing Joel to perfect his showing-off skills at a succession of schools.
Joel earned a Bachelor of Attendance from some uni and then... oh the HORROR... went to work in commercial radio. He actually had a lot of fun and earned a few awards for his work, before bailing out of employment all together so he could write a very strange fantasy/horror novel. (So far no one is brave enough to publish it.)
He was then lucky enough to be employed by ABC Local Radio in Canberra, honing his skills in a number of positions - field reporter, producer, webmaster and presenter. Now he's returned home to Hobart, where he does whichever job is deemed most useful this week.
