Nicola Gage is the acting Deputy News Editor for NSW, based in Sydney. Before returning to the ABC in 2022 as the Northern Territory's Deputy News Editor, she worked for Al Jazeera English as a reporter and senior producer in Sydney, Canberra and Doha, Qatar. She started with the ABC in 2010 as a reporter in regional South Australia before spending six years in the Adelaide newsroom, winning several awards including for her coverage of elder abuse in a state government-run aged care facility.
Nicola has also undertaken projects with ABC International and UNICEF in Papua New Guinea.
